The small CNC mill with the combination of CAM software opened up new opportunities for complex parts and small production runs.
CAM Software was purchased to assist in programming complex parts. Fusion 360 is the primary CAD/CAM software used. The mini mill works excellent in Aluminum and softer metals. It has also done its fair share of steels including stainless steels. A lighter approach is needed in harder materials, the only issue is the increased time taken to complete.
This design was given to me as a sketch, the off the shelf items didn't quite have the features required by the customer, back and forth until a design was finalized.
The job required some tricky machining the get to the hard to reach areas.
First roughing passes.
JIG + Angle plate was used to machine the offset port.
Fittings with a 19mm AF internal hex were also require. Single point slotting + dividing head used for internal hex.
